Calcium ascorbate powder is made up of roughly 9 parts of
ascorbic acid to 1 part of calcium. This combination makes it
pH neutral. By combining calcium with ascorbic acid, two other
benefits result: It is believed that the ascorbic acid helps to absorb
calcium and become bioavailable to the cells, while at the same
time the calcium holds onto the vitamin C, allowing the ascorbic
acid to stay in the cells longer. Water-soluble vitamin C leaves the
body quite quickly.
